1. i auditioned for senior honors choir and am an ALTERNATE!!
800 people audition from all over the state and only 150 get chosen. our school had 10 people audition and 6 were chosen with 2 alternates, which is really good!! my teacher is hoping someone gets the swine flu so i can go haha.

2. GLEE started!!
such a good show but i'm not allowed to watch it anymore.... darn darn darn. the singing is phenomenal though!!

3. first jazz choir performance!
we sang at the "hispanic heritage month night extravaganza" it was pretty good. we didn't get into it very much though... but we sounded pretty good.

4. I FOUND A NEW OBSESSION!!
nick pitera is a new mega-heartthrob of mine. you may think his voice is a little creepy and "off" at first but trust me, you get used to it.

  1. Wow. I have a lot of things to say about this:
    1) that picture of the cat is gross.
    2) Glee has some good musical numbers, but it's pretty crass.
    3) I couldn't finish watching the video of your boyfriend singing. It was giving me the heebee jeebies. Sorry.
    4) glad you are back in the blogging world!
    5) HOORAY that you made alternate. I'm sure you can think of some ways so you can "accidently" get on. haha. just kidding.
    6) you definately have to come to BYU. Katie, Bryan and I decided. The end.

  2. I second what Lisa said. Even though I told you that earlier today. About BYU I mean. But don't listen to Lisa about the cat. He's hilarious. But maybe if you could get him to lose the beer.

  3. I just want to say something about Glee.
So we decided to get "real" t.v. Not sure if that was a good decision or not, but it was nice watching conference at home on the big t.v. But when the guy was here hooking up the fiber optic t.v. feed, I asked him to show us how to set up the parental controls. He went through all the instructions and then just did it for us. You can choose what you want blocked from coming in to your home by the rating, ie, only G, or PG, PG-13, TV 14, R, etc. After reading what each of those ratings meant, we decided to block TV-14 and worse. I know some PG-13 is still not great, but we could make those judgements.
Well, a lot of "regular" network TV is blocked from coming into our home with it on TV-14 setting! I'm so glad we have this. We had to override the rating in order to watch the show Alison wanted to see, "Glee", but I agree with the rating. It is really awful! I muted it in many places or changed the channel, but as this was a viewing to see if she could go to her friend's house to watch it with a group, Dad and I tried to make it through the whole thing. I was appalled, and shocked!
We won't be doing that again in our home.
Last Saturday I was feeling kind of yucky with a cold, so while Dad and David were at the Priesthood meeting and Alison was at a friends, I was watching a show on BYU-TV. After that, I flipped through the channels to see what else was on. Every one of the regular network channels was blocked by my TV-14 rating! I did find an old movie on another channel, but what is scary is that all this junk is out there for regular viewing. It's really scary to me.
I'm really glad we have the blocking feature, so not only are we protected from accidentally hitting a wrong button and getting a porno channel, we are protected from the networks!
